Design work usually stems from the need or desire to communicate a pre-existing message. A work of art, on the other hand, is the expression of a completely “new” idea. Of course, this “new” idea is influenced by many other pre-existing thoughts. However, it is about the experience of breathing life into something private and personal. Understanding the foundation courses of Fine Arts created the groundwork for my design career. Knowing the core of Fine Arts gave me a broader understanding of how something is created using many crafts, tools, and ways of thinking.
